Overthinking and Negative Thinking

A student can pass a quiz and still lie awake turning one sentence over until Fajr. This seminar at Islamic Center Information Hub names overthinking and negative thinking without calling every worry a lack of iman. We speak of waswasah, of a phone that feeds comparison, of a house that only praises marks, and of the difference between planning and chewing the same fear.

The sitting offers what a hall can offer: dua for anxiety, a way to stop a thought-loop long enough to pray, sleep and company that help, and a clear word that harming oneself is not a solution. It sits beside our stress-management workshop. Sisters’ groups, when held, give space to the particular silence many girls carry.

Youth, parents, and teachers from Firozabad are welcome. If someone in the room needs more than a talk, staff point them toward trusted help. The Center’s character work includes the heart: a believer who can think, and also stop thinking, when it is time to trust Allah ﷻ.
